....newsOn Thursday 25th September 2008, Sheilas’ Wheels launched the ‘Exi-quette Car Curtain’ which was created to shield a lady’s modesty and allow her to get out of any car with dignity and grace.

The pictorial factsheet below shows you exactly how to use the ‘Exi-quette Car Curtain’ along with details of how to make your very own car curtain, just the same as the one the girls from Sheilas’ Wheels are modelling:
Stitch or glue a hem in the top of curtain large enough to feed the elastic through. You can stitch or glue hems all the way round the curtain to finish the fabric off.
Feed the elastic through the hem at the top of the curtain. The curtain will hang downwards like a shower curtain.
Tie one window sucker to either end of the elastic. Check that when gently stretched the elastic will reach from the front of your car's front window to the front of your car's rear window (behind your shoulder when seated).
Cut the elastic near one of the window suckers and fix in the hook and eye. It is personal choice which end to introduce the hook and eye and you can always turn your DIY Exi-quette Car Curtain around to try the alternative way. The hook and eye enables the curtain to be opened when exiting the car.
Attach some brightly coloured clothes pegs (4 equally spaced along the bottom hem) to the curtain to add some weight to it - just in case there is a sudden gust of wind when you’re getting out of the car.
You are now ready to use your DIY Exi-quette Car Curtain as per the Sheilas' Wheels instructions. Enjoy exiting your car with grace and dignity!
